چکیده

The effects of magnetic field on capillary-tissue exchange system where the rheology of flowing blood in the capillary is characterized by the modified Herschel-Bulkley fluid. Blood is the suspension of cells in plasma blood can be regarded as a suspension of magnetic particles (red cells) in non-magnetic plasma. An axially non-symmetric but radially symmetric stenosis is considered when an externally uniform magnetic field is applied on the flow. The effect of magnetic field is considered in the transverse direction of blood flow and viscosity of blood is taken as radial co-ordinate dependent. Assessment of the severity of the disease could be made possible through the variation of a parameter named as retention parameter. The concentration profile and associated physiological diffusion variable involved in the study for normal and diseased state have been analyzed. The model is also employed to study the effect of shape of stenosis on flow characteristics. Finally the significance of the present model over the existing published literature has been pointed out by comparing the results with other theories.

EFFECTS OF MAGNETIC FIELD ON THE RED CELL ON NUTRITIONAL TRANSPORT IN CAPILLARY-TISSUE EXCHANGE SYSTEM

A mathematical model for nutritional transport in capillary tissues exchange system in thepresence of magnetic field has been studied. In this case, the cell is deformed. Due to concentrationgradients, the dissolved nutrient in substrate diffuses into surrounding tissue. Theanalytical method is based on perturbation technique while the numerical simulation is basedon finite difference scheme. R...

Effects of non-newtonian properties of blood flow on magnetic nanoparticle targeted drug delivery

Objective(s): One applications of nanotechnology is in the area of medicine which is called nanomedicine. Primary instruments in nanomedicine can help us to detect diseases and used for drug delivery to inaccessible areas of human tissues. An important issue in simulating the motion of nanoparticles is modeling blood flow as a Newtonian or non-Newtonian fluid. Sometimes blood flow is simulated ...

MHD Flow of Blood through Radially Non-symmetric Stenosed Artery: a Hershcel-Bulkley Model (RESEARCH NOTE)

The purpose of this study is to develop a mathematical model for studying the magnetic field effect on blood flow through an axially non-symmetric but radially symmetric atherosclerotic artery. Herschel-Bulkley equation has been taken to represent the non-Newtonian character of blood. The response of magnetic field, stenosis height, shape parameter on velocity, volumetric flow rate in stenotic ...

UNSTEADY CONVECTIVE DIFFUSION IN A HERSCHEL–BULKLEY FLUID IN A CONDUIT WITH INTERPHASE MASS TRANSFER

The combined effect of non-Newtonian rheology and irreversible boundary reaction on dispersion in a Herschel-Bulkley fluid through a conduit (pipe/channel) is studied by using generalized dispersion model. The study explains the development of dispersive transport following the injection of a tracer in terms of three effective transport coefficients namely exchange, convective and dispersion co...

Peristaltic Transport of a Herschel-bulkley Fluid in Contact with a Newtonian Fluid

Peristaltic transport of Herschel-Bulkley fluid in contact with a Newtonian fluid in a channel is investigated for its various applications to flows with physiological fluids (blood, chyme, intrauterine fluid, etc.). The primary application is when blood flows through small vessels; blood has a peripheral layer of plasma and a core region of suspension of all the erythrocytes. That is, in the m...
